A consistent look-and-feel for Melbourne Business School’s online courses

Posted byRead bio

Melbourne Buisness School (MBS) is the University of Melbourne’s Graduate School in business and economics.   MBS has worked hard to develop its online course portfolio. It offers online learning for its degree programmes, online short courses for professionals and custom online programs for organisations. MBS approached Curio with the challenge: “How might we strengthen our capability to provide a consistent look-and-feel for our online learners, whatever online learning pathway they take?”.    Curio Academy brought together expertise across course design, development and delivery to build a tailored training package.  Curio Academy partnered with MBS to:
  • Co-design learning outcomes, topics, format and style with MBS stakeholders and program managers;
  • Develop consistent Canvas themes, templates and look-and-feel requirements for online courses;
  • Monitor and track formative skill development throughout and provide a non-award badge (certificate) was provided to all participants at the conclusion of workshops;
  • Created a custom online booking portal for bespoke and targeted support;
  • Provided scaffolding for MBS administrators to manage Canvas environments and courses themselves.
The training package’s outcome was a swiftly implemented Canvas look-and-feel, and a team of program managers that were able to implement and migrate new courses into this environment.
