Create transformative learning experiences
We create learning people can use, remember and apply. Online, blended or face to face, it's grounded in evidence and shaped around your learners.
We start where you need us
Some clients come to us with a single course to build. Others want a whole curriculum rethought, a program moved online, or a team that can keep the work going after we leave. We work with universities, colleges, professional bodies, government and workplaces, and no two of them need the same thing.
So we don't start with a fixed method. We start with what you're trying to achieve, the people who'll learn and the expertise you already have. Then we work alongside you as a partner, from the first conversation to launch and beyond.
From a single course to a whole curriculum
Courses and programs
A new learning offer designed from the ground up, from outcomes and structure through activities, assessment, content and facilitator guidance.
Curriculum and portfolio uplift
Programs reviewed as a connected whole, to find gaps and duplication, improve coherence and align the curriculum with learner, accreditation and industry needs.
Digital and blended experiences
The right balance of self-directed, facilitated, synchronous and workplace learning for your audience and context.
Assessments and authentic practice
Opportunities for learners to apply knowledge, get useful feedback and demonstrate the capabilities that matter beyond the course.
Content and media production
Clear copy, visual assets, video, animation and interactive experiences that serve the learning purpose.
Templates and design systems
Reusable course patterns, LMS templates and production guidance that improve consistency and help internal teams work faster.
How we design a course
We work as consultants, not a production line. Each stage is a conversation with your team, and the working relationships we build along the way matter as much as the course.
-
Discovery
We meet your learners, subject experts and the people who'll teach the course, and agree what success looks like.
-
Blueprint
You sign off the outcomes, structure, assessment and a sample module before we build at scale.
-
Build
Designers, writers and media producers build in your LMS or to your template, with your subject experts reviewing as we go.
-
Test and launch
We check accessibility and quality against your standards, pilot with real learners where we can, and fix what we find.
-
Improve
After the first run, we use learner feedback and platform data to decide what to change.
More time for the work people do best
AI helps with research, structure, drafting and production. That gives our designers more time for the parts people do best: understanding your context, working with your experts and making learning that engages.
It's your choice. We agree at the start whether and how AI is used on your work, and if you'd rather we didn't use it, we don't.
What every course we build meets
-
Accessible
Designed and tested to WCAG 2.2 AA, including video, documents and interactive content.
-
Built for your platform
Canvas, Moodle, Brightspace or Totara, in your existing template or one we design with you.
-
Mobile-ready
Learners can work through it on a phone as easily as on a laptop.
-
Measurable
Outcomes, assessments and evaluation are planned from the start, not added at the end.
Learning design in action
Kids First Australia needed its trauma-informed Early Years Education Program to reach far beyond the sites it started in. We turned a relational, in-person model into scalable eLearning for early childhood teams across Victoria.
Leeds University Business School wanted carbon literacy built into staff and student capability. We designed a short, self-directed course with the university's own subject expert, rather than a workshop that fades.
By late 2019 RMIT Online was growing faster than its procurement could commission course design. We became the standing design partner, so new courses could move without re-running approvals each time.
The University of New England's long history in distance education had become the constraint. We modernised its digital learning environment at scale, against rising student expectations and post-pandemic competitive pressure.
RMIT's College of Business and Law wanted its MBA to look and feel like the flagship it was meant to be. We designed four premium courses to a visibly higher standard.
Chisholm Institute's Certificate IV in Mental Health had served students well while the workforce moved on. We redesigned it around digital literacy, trauma-informed practice and cultural competence.
Howard Hughes Medical Institute's Educating for Freedom course already worked. We uplifted it with new animations and Canvas design, and widened its scope from equitable teaching to inclusive teaching more broadly.
Semester 1 of 2020 was not going to wait for a considered transition plan. We uplifted Queen Mary University of London's online teaching offering fast, school by school rather than one generic briefing.
