Management of a global talent pool to deliver quality online executive education for a Russell Group university

The shift to fully online asynchronous courses continues to rise in CPD and executive education, allowing busy professionals to learn whenever and wherever they like. As universities further expand their online CPD offerings, there has been a growing need for additional teaching and tutoring staff, with a specific skillset to deliver engaging and interactive learning experiences for their learners.

Our client is a global OPM who provides a variety of services to higher education providers, from content publishing to course design and delivery. In 2020, we started our partnership to provide online tutors for one of their clients, a leading Russell Group collegiate university. Through this partnership, we deliver online short courses designed for professionals working in government and public bodies, which enable them to upskill through flexible, remote learning.

To source experienced tutors, we started by gathering the client’s requirements, including specific academic qualifications alongside professional and teaching experience, and used this to shape an effective global recruitment strategy.

With access to a global talent pool of academics and industry experts, we were able to provide a shortlist of highly qualified and experienced online tutors quickly. The sourced online tutors were assessed against our strict criteria, reviewed by our client and the university. Once we had an approved list of candidates, we contracted and onboarded the tutors within two weeks.

All online facilitators were onboarded to Curio Faculty and welcomed into the Faculty Lounge, an online community that provides a social space for all Faculty members to interact and engage with each other. Alongside recruitment and human resources administration, our client values our focus on talent management, with opportunities for 1:1 coaching sessions and group training, plus the opportunity for facilitators to join a community where they can share their knowledge and experience with other experts and facilitators.

We recruited and hired new facilitators, as well as contracted and onboarded facilitators previously hired by our client, relieving their administrative burden. We are looking forward to our continued partnership as we deliver more exceptional online CPD courses.
