Put the right expertise around the learning challenge
Curio gives organisations access to specialist learning expertise when and where it is needed, from individual experts to multidisciplinary teams, while building the capability to sustain the work internally.
Learning transformation needs people as well as plans
An ambitious learning strategy can quickly run into a practical constraint: the organisation doesn't have enough of the right capability available at the right time.
The gap might be learning design, facilitation, assessment, educational technology, research, production or specialist subject expertise. Sometimes the need is one person. Sometimes it is an entire team that can start quickly and work alongside internal people.
Curio combines an experienced core team with a global Faculty community of learning specialists and subject-matter experts. We don't simply fill roles. We assemble the capability required to get the work done well.
What is the Curio Faculty community?
The Curio Faculty community is our network of learning specialists and subject-matter experts: learning designers, instructors, facilitators, writers, researchers and technologists. Everyone we place comes from that community, so they're people we've worked with before, not names pulled from a database.
Curio matches the right people to your brief, manages their onboarding and stays accountable for the quality of their work.
Specialist capability, assembled around the work
Specialist expertise
Learning designers, instructional specialists, researchers, writers, developers, technologists, facilitators and subject-matter experts selected for the work.
Multidisciplinary teams
Complete teams assembled around a program or transformation, combining the disciplines required rather than making the client coordinate multiple suppliers.
Scaled facilitation and delivery
Facilitators and instructors recruited, prepared and supported to deliver consistently across large cohorts, locations or time zones.
Subject-matter expertise
Industry and disciplinary experts who bring credibility and current practice into learning design, content and delivery.
Capability uplift
Coaching, professional learning, frameworks and practical ways of working that strengthen the capability of internal teams.
Flexible capacity
Additional expertise during peaks, major builds or transformation programs without creating permanent organisational capacity that isn't required later.
A better match from the beginning
Every engagement starts with a clear brief covering the required outcomes, environment, audience, availability and ways of working. We use that context to identify relevant people, support onboarding and maintain quality throughout delivery.
Every specialist we place comes from our Faculty community: people we've worked with before, not names pulled cold from a database.
Three ways to work with us
One specialist
A learning designer, instructor or subject-matter expert who joins your team for a project or a busy period.
A managed team
A complete team, led by Curio, that delivers a defined program of work from start to finish.
A standing panel
Pre-agreed people and rates, so new work can start without a fresh procurement each time.
Capability delivered at scale
By late 2019 RMIT Online was growing faster than its procurement could commission course design. We became the standing design partner, so new courses could move without re-running approvals each time.
RMIT wanted to launch an online university in 2016, and fixed academic headcount does not flex with demand. We supply around 300 adjunct academics and industry specialists, and have done ever since.
Semester 1 of 2020 was not going to wait for a considered transition plan. We uplifted Queen Mary University of London's online teaching offering fast, school by school rather than one generic briefing.
Executive education delivered with a global programme manager needs experienced online tutors ready, not a slow recruitment cycle. We built and managed a global talent pool for the University of Oxford.
